Bhai Dooj 2021 Tilak Time: According to the Hindu calendar, Bhai Dooj is celebrated every year on the second day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartik. On this day sisters greet their brothers by applying tilak on their foreheads, wishing them long life. Brothers also express their love by giving gifts to their sisters. Bhai Dooj is also known as Yama Dwitiya. In honor of Yamraj, an oil lamp is kept lit at the entrance of the house. By doing this the possibility of premature death in siblings ends. Bhai Dooj Tilak Shubh Muhurat 2021:

According to astrologers, the festival of Bhai Dooj will be celebrated on Saturday, November 6. Like the festival of Rakshabandhan, sisters also wish their brothers long life and happy life on this day. The auspicious time to celebrate Bhai Dooj will start from 11.14 pm on 5th November and end at 7.44 pm on 6th November. On this auspicious day sisters can apply ’tilak’ on the forehead of their brothers between 1.10 pm to 3.21 pm. The auspicious time for Tilak will be of 2 hours 11 minutes.

Correct way to worship on the eve of Bhai Dooj:

On the eve of Bhai Dooj, sisters should wake up early in the morning and after taking bath should worship Lord Vishnu or Lord Ganesha for the long life of their brothers. After applying a paste of vermilion and rice in the hands of the brother, the sister has to keep a betel leaf in her hand, which should have a betel nut and a silver coin. Then the sister has to offer water slowly on the brother’s hand and chant for the brother’s long life. This will be the same hand holding the betel nut, the betel nut and the silver coin. Then the sister needs to apply ’tilak’ on her brother’s forehead and then perform ‘aarti’ and pray for his long life. After this ‘Kalava’ is tied on the brother’s wrist. Then she would feed her brother a mixture of butter and sugar or something sweet. The puja ends with the ‘Aarti’ of the deities. Things needed for worship on Bhai Dooj:

While applying tilak to her brother on Bhai Dooj, the sister must keep the following things in the plate of worship, vermilion, flowers, rice, betel nut, betel leaves, silver coin, coconut, garland of flowers, sweets, Kalava, ‘Dub’ Grass and Bananas.
