Benny Dayal: Your Personality Makes Your Music – Special! – times of India

Benny Dayal, who is one of the popular singers of Bollywood has lent his voice to him. Ranbir Kapoor‘Wicked Heart’ and Arjun Kapoor‘Locha-e-Ulfat’ is in, and the list goes on. Brilliant singer is a wonderful Live artist, but did you know that as a child he had a passion for dancing? In an exclusive chat with ETimes, the playback singer reveals who noticed his singing talent, how he behaves mean comments on social media and the new music he is currently working on.

What inspired you to become a singer?

At first, it was a passion to dance. I started learning music the same year I started learning dance. I was more inclined towards dancing, and I was very excited Michael Jackson when I was a kid. However, my mother put me in Bharatanatyam training, where my teacher mentioned that I sing really well, in key and that’s ingrained. That’s how it all started in terms of singing for me and why I chose to sing.

What according to you should be in a good singer?

a good personality.

What do you prepare before any recording or concert?

Try and remove everything you know.

When was the last time you performed in front of a huge audience? What was your experience like?

Last year at IIM Udaipur, it was awesome. Performing in universities and colleges is far more energetic. It was three days, and the audience wanted to have the best possible time with their friends and everyone, so if your music is helping them, I think it’s a good feeling.

Which musician do you admire the most and why?

There are many musicians – just one or two or three cannot say. It goes without saying that it is a mixed bag of many musicians from around the world.

If you could change one thing about our music industry, what would it be?

Visual, that’s all I have to say.

Do you have any artistic collaboration plans? What new music are you working on?

Of course, cooperation is always happening. In terms of new music, I’m working on some personal projects and a lot of films. SouthWhereas recently, in Hindi, I have sung for the film 83,

What advice would you give to someone who has just started their music career?

Don’t filter your own personality. Your personality becomes your music. So, I guess I believe in it.

You sang songs in different regional languages, which language was the easiest and which was the hardest?

Every language has its own challenge, but for me personally, Bangla was a bit difficult as I was not very familiar with it when I was singing. So, I would say that I faced the most challenges in learning Bangla.

How do you deal with bad comments and hate messages on social media?

ignore.

How was your experience performing at Mahindra Open Drive?

I was so excited! As musicians, we love to perform as a team. It’s even more fun to come to festivals because there’s a mixed bag of audience, and you get to see other musicians performing and saying hello to them – it’s a very exciting moment. I think we musicians love each other a lot.
