Bengaluru: Officer, woman abuse cops over alcometer test | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: City Armed Reserve (CAR) police inspector Sanjeev Kumar and a woman accompanying him allegedly abused traffic policemen for stopping their vehicle for a drunk driving check.
Police found the woman driving under the influence of alcohol. The incident took place at Chamarajpet 8th Cross on Saturday night when Chickpet police were carrying out a drunk driving check.
Around 11.15pm, the car the duo was in rammed another car, driven by one Mohammed Mohsin Pasha. This led to an altercation between the two drivers and the traffic police personnel at the spot asked the woman driver to blow into the alcometer.
At this juncture, the woman and Kumar allegedly created a ruckus and hurled abuse at the cops.
“Chamarajpet (law & order) police were called to the spot and the woman was subjected to a test. It was confirmed she was driving under the influence of alcohol. While she has been booked for drunk driving, a road accident case has been filed at Chickpet traffic police station based on the complaint filed by Pasha. Another case is filed against Sanjeev Kumar and the woman, Usha, for deterring a public servant from discharging his duty,” a cop said.
