“He is a reputed weaver who depicts various aspects of Indian history and culture in his saris and he would love this gift,” he added.
There was a painting of the Prime Minister addressing the citizens in a sari.
In the 1970s, Biren Kumar Basak, along with his brother, used to sell saris door-to-door in Kolkata.
He started his journey with Re 1 and now at least 5,000 weavers work for him.
