Bengal BJP Worker Killed In Nadia, Party Blames TMC

A BJP worker was fatally shot in the Nadia district of West Bengal on Saturday, following the conclusion of polling for the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections, according to police reports.

Hafizul Sheikh, a recent BJP recruit, was shot in the head by a man at a tea stall. Police sources have identified the attacker and are actively searching for him. According to police sources, both Sheikh and his identified attacker had criminal records.

The police refuted claims that Sheikh was beheaded, clarifying that his head was disfigured by bullet shots. Sheikh’s family alleges he was killed because he joined the BJP. The BJP has accused the Trinamool Congress and CPI(M) of orchestrating attacks on its workers.

Amit Malviya, BJP’s IT cell head, stated that the killings in West Bengal have begun, mentioning that Hafizul Sheikh, another BJP worker, was murdered. He described Sheikh’s body as swollen, bullet-ridden, and headless, found lying by the roadside, in a post on X.

Malviya mentioned that under Sheikh’s influence, minorities in the area were joining the BJP before the Lok Sabha elections.

Malviya stated that the TMC has no love for Muslims if they do not vote for them. He mentioned that Muslims were targeted in Diamond Harbour, where a large number of them voted for Pratikur Rehman, the CPI(M) candidate.
