Bengal BJP will conduct Shaheed Samman Yatra from today, Kolkata Police said rally is not allowed

The state president of the party said that the BJP in West Bengal has sought permission from the central leadership for the Shaheed Samman Yatra from today.

“The Union ministers of our party will go and meet those who are victims of the post-poll violence. They will go and visit them and find out how they are doing,” BJP state president Dilip Ghosh said.

BJP is celebrating Ashirwad Yatra all over the country, but in the state BJP will celebrate it as Shaheed Samman Yatra.

According to the BJP, 55 workers have been killed in the post-poll violence. Party leaders including Nishith Pramanik, John Barla, Subhash Sarkar, Shantanu Thakur and others will visit the victim’s family in their respective areas.

After the election results in Bengal earlier this year, the BJP claimed that there had been heavy violence. They also went to court, as a result, the NHRC team was directed to investigate the matter and NHRC gave a strong report in the court.

BJP is taking out nationwide Ashirwad Yatra in Bengal in the form of Shaheed Samman Yatra to highlight this issue. TMC, on the other hand, has criticized the visit, taking a dig at the party on the issue of rising prices and espionage.

“BJP prime minister identified Matangini Hazra from Assam, we don’t know which Shahid is BJP referring to here. BJP is doing ashirwad yatra all over the country, but I have to say why are they asking for blessings? The fact that all public sectors have been privatized? For skyrocketing prices or for using military spyware to protest?” TMC’s Sukhendu Shekhar Roy told News18.

Meanwhile, heavy police force has been deployed in front of BJP headquarters in Kolkata and police say that Kolkata Shaheed Samman Yatra is not allowed.
