Faf du Plessis said playing with Virat Kohli is better than playing against him as the Indian batsman is very passionate on the field.
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis opened up on playing alongside Virat Kohli in the Indian Premier League. Du Plessis had joined RCB last season during the mega IPL auction and was appointed as the franchise captain after Kohli stepped down from the captaincy after the 2021 edition. The duo form a formidable opening pair for RCB as they have been giving solid starts in the IPL so far this season.
Kohli is known for his aggressive approach on the field both while batting and fielding which has been on fire in the current season as well.

Du Plessis said playing with Kohli is better than playing against him as the Indian batsman is very passionate on the field.
“The biggest thing about Virat is his passion. I always like to play against Virat. With the passion he has, for every wicket that falls, he will be at 10-10 for every wicket. It amazes me how this player is always so passionate even if the number 11 man gets out. I was amazed by the amount of passion he had for the game of cricket. Now being in the same team, I can tell you that playing with him is better than playing against him,” du Plessis told NDTV.
The RCB pair have been in fine form in the ongoing edition as du Plessis leads the race for the Orange Cap with 631 runs, while Kohli has scored 438 runs.

The Proteas batsman further said that batting with Kohli is very impressive as it brings out the best from the other batsman at all times.
“When you are playing against him, sometimes, that passion can fuel you as well. I’ve been on the other side of that. On the other hand, if you play with him, then it is a very good thing. You feel the passion he has to bat with and it is really contagious. It motivates you to give your best all the time. It was great to know the player behind the cricketer and the person behind the cricketer. He is a very generous, kind person. Also a family-oriented one like me. We have become really good friends. We share a lot of the same interests, family driven, passion and tattoos,” said the South African.
