A UK court on Monday declared fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya bankrupt. With this, Indian banks will now be able to easily take possession of Mallya’s properties. A consortium of Indian banks led by the State Bank of India (SBI) filed a petition against Mallya in the British Court.

Mallya has one more chance to appeal
Mallya still has one chance to appeal against the decision of the London High Court. It is believed that Mallya’s lawyer will soon file a petition challenging this decision.

The ED had earlier said that the liquor baron has lost his case in the UK court against extradition to India. On this issue, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla had said on Saturday that India has made a strong case against Mallya and the British authorities have assured us about his extradition.
