Balochistan CM Kamal says will not resign on demand of 12 people

Amid a tussle among Balochistan cabinet members over the removal of Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan, the Chief Minister made it clear that he would not resign on the demand of “12 people”. geo news Reported on Friday.

Addressing a press conference in Quetta, CM Kamal said, “I will continue my struggle and will not resign on the call of 12 people.”

Speaking about the internal rifts within the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), the Chief Minister said that barring a few BAP members, who have submitted their resignations to the Balochistan Governor, all the party members and its allies support him.

He said some of his “colleagues” have tried to remove him from the chief minister’s post in the past, adding that he would not allow this “void” to persist within the party.

CM Kamal said, ‘We are trying to withdraw the resignations of the ministers. “If they don’t withdraw their resignations, we will have to appoint new ministers.”

Disgruntled cabinet members submitted their resignations

Sources with knowledge of the matter said that members of the provincial cabinet, including three ministers and two advisors to the chief minister, have submitted their resignations to Balochistan Finance Minister Zahoor Buledi, who made the request at a stern press conference earlier in the day. The disgruntled BAP members had asked the chief minister and former party president Kamal to resign by Wednesday, else he would face a no-confidence motion.

Kamal clarified that he has not resigned from the post of Chief Minister

A few days back, CM Kamal took to social media to dispel rumors that he had also resigned from his post after leaving the post of BAP president.

He took to Twitter yesterday and announced that he was stepping down as party president after completing a “good” three-year term.

The chief minister asked BAP’s central organizer Jan Jamali and BAP general secretary Manzoor Kakkar to hold elections within the party at the earliest.
