‘Balika Vadhu 2’ team opens up about the show, its concept

‘Balika Vadhu’ which has become one of the most popular serials addressing the topic of child marriage is all set to come up with its second season – ‘Balika Vadhu 2’. It will capture the journey of the new ‘Anandi’ played by Shreya Patel and will address the same issue from a fresh perspective.

The story revolves around Anandi and her fight for justice. Set in the rural areas of Devgarh city of Gujarat, ‘Balika Vadhu 2’ is the story of two friends, ‘Premji’ played by Sunny Pancholi and ‘Khimji’ portrayed by Anshul Trivedi. Khimji’s wife gave birth to a girl, ‘Anandi’, while ‘Premji’ gave birth to a younger boy ‘Jigar’ (played by Vansh Sayani). Later, Anandi and Jigar get married to each other in a ‘child marriage’.

The show will start on August 9 on Colors. It will address the practice of child marriage from a whole new perspective. The show will introduce viewers to the challenges they face as a new Anandi and a child bride. It is produced by Sanjay Wadhwa and Komal Wadhwa.

Speaking about the show, producer Sanjay Wadhwa says: “We have always believed in the power of stories and the change they can bring. The entire nation is witness to how Balika Vadhu has helped millions across the country. Changed perception and face. of Indian television. Actress Shreya Patel, who essays the role of Anandi, shared how special the character is to the audience and she can very well connect with her onscreen image. Shreya says: “My family always told me that the character of Anandi holds a special place in the hearts of many Indians. I am extremely excited and also a little nervous to play a character who has made such an impact on everyone. Left. My character Anandi is like me in many ways, she is brave, happy and loves doing ‘Garba’. I look forward to the new journey.”
