Bal Gangadhar Tilak Jayanti: Motivational Quotes of Freedom Fighter

Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, whose real name was Keshav Gangadhar Tilak, was born 165 years ago on this day, July 23. He was a freedom fighter, social thinker, philosopher and teacher, who played an important role in India’s independence efforts. Tilak was born in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra in 1856 and was a strong supporter of Swarajya during the liberation struggle.

He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics with honors from Deccan College, Pune in 1877. In 1879, Tilak graduated from Government Law College with an LLM. B and founded the Deccan Education Society in 1884 to impart nationalist principles to the youth.
