Bajrang Dal workers vandalized the sets of Prakash Jha’s web series Ashram 3, ink thrown at the filmmaker

The upcoming web series ‘Ashram 3’ directed by Prakash Jha has courted controversy after Bajrang Dal activists ransacked the sets of the series during the filming on Sunday and also threw ink on the director. The filming was going on in Bhopal’s old jail, where Bajrang Dal activists stopped vehicles and pelted stones at them, injuring some crew members.

After the incident, DIG Bhopal Irshad Wali clarified, “All the miscreants have been driven out of the premises and no one has been fatally injured, though some vehicles have been damaged. Further action will be taken against those responsible.” “

“I want to assure everyone that a similar situation will not happen again,” he said.

Regarding the incident, Bajrang Dal Bhopal leader Sushil Sudele said, “We want the film industry to be promoted here in Madhya Pradesh. People should get employment, but this land should not be used to humiliate Hindu society. It was shown that women are exploited inside the ashram, is it so? Stop defaming Hindus and if they want to gain popularity then why don’t they take the name of any other religion and how many protests take place.”

“We have just given a warning for now and Prakash Raj has said that he is in talks to change the title of the show,” he added, “I repeat whether the name of the show will have to be changed from ‘Ashram’ or not. Hoga is filmed here in Bhopal.”
