Bajaj Auto has started booking its electric scooter Chetak in Chennai.
It comes at a starting price of Rs 1,46,485 (ex-showroom).
The Bajaj Chetak EV gets fully charged in five hours and a quick 25 percent charge will take around 60 minutes. According to the statement, on a single full charge, it can run up to 90 km on Eco mode.
Booking can be done online (www.chetak.com) with an initial payment of ₹2,000.

Chennai will be the seventh city to start booking for Chetak. Bajaj had earlier started booking in Pune, Bangalore, Nagpur, Mysore, Mangaluru and Aurangabad.
The Chetak electric scooter requires minimum maintenance with a service interval of 12,000 km or one year (whichever is earlier) and a battery warranty of three years or 50,000 km (whichever is earlier), the statement said.

Chetak’s first shipments against bookings will start in October. The Chetak comes in four colors – Indigo Metallic (Blue), Veluto Rosso (Red), Brooklyn Black and Hazelnut.
The Chetak EV is available for trial ride at the exclusive Chetak Experience Center at 2nd Avenue, Anna Nagar as well as at two KTM dealerships in Anna Salai and Kolathur.
