Badminton legend Pullela Gopichand joins Indian Padel Federation as advisor

Indian badminton legend Pullela Gopichand has joined hands with the Indian Paddle Federation (IPF) as an advisor on June 8, 2023. The chief national team coach signed a strategic partnership with former bronze medalist Supriya Devgan to fast-track the racquet sport. 2017 BWF World Senior Badminton Championships.

Indian Paddle Federation, since its inception in 2018, is growing rapidly in the Indian market. The entry of Gopichand and Devgan will further increase its popularity among Indian fans. Gopichand, winner of the 2001 All England Open Badminton Championships, said he is thrilled to contribute to the development of padel in India and wants to use his experience to make it a mainstream sport.

IPF President Sneha Sehgal revealed that the racquet sport has been witnessing a lot of growth ever since it was chosen as an independent discipline by the European Olympic Committees. He also said that the experience of Gopichand and Supriya will help Padel reach new heights.
