Thousands of fans flocked to hear Backstreet Boys, one of the most popular boy bands across the globe, as they performed at Jio Garden, BKC. The band opened the nearly two-hour gig with the hit song “I Wanna Be With You” and continued to belt out hit numbers one after the other, including “The Call”, “Don’t Want You Back” as the crowd roared . Frenzy, sing along. Bryan came on stage and greeted his fans with “Namaste Mumbai”.
He also tried to interact with the audience in Hindi as he took out a paper and quipped “Kaise hain aap” and concluded that Namaste was the best. The band consists of Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Howie Dorough and cousins Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson. The group was formed in Florida in 1993 and rose to fame with their debut album, “Backstreet Boys”.
It comes to India after thirteen years for the DNA World Tour 2023 produced by BookMyShow, for which they will also perform in Delhi on 5th May. The band performed songs including “Get Down”, “I Want You Back” and “Get Down”. “Unfinished”, Nick said, adding that someone should have warned them how hot it was in India. He then added, “It’s not the weather that’s heating it up, it’s because of all of you.”
“We didn’t know we had so many BSB fans, but now we see it and we love it. This is our second time in India and we’ve been waiting a very long time to come to Mumbai,” They said. After “Drowning”, AJ McLean came out on stage and assured the crowd that they weren’t even halfway done and asked the audience to keep singing, dancing and shouting as much as they could. Kevin joins them on stage and says that next time “it will win” it will not be just two cities but four, five and six.
It was a night to remember as the band performed some of the most memorable songs of the 90s. People of all age groups could be seen grooving to his beats during his performance. The band immediately struck a chord with the audience when they performed one of their all-time favorite songs. “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)”. The group was dressed in all black outfits. The band members were impressed when their hotel staff performed “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” to welcome them here on Wednesday.
Nick Carter later posted a video of himself on Instagram applauding the act. “This is the first time I have seen something like this in my entire career where hotel staff are dancing. It’s crazy!” Carter said in the video. To show their love for the city, the band tweaked their song “I Want It That Way”.
“I want it the Mumbai way,” he muttered.
