The move comes after Supriyo resigned from the BJP and joined the TMC in September.
Earlier on October 1, Supriyo had shared a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, seeking an appointment with him for an urgent matter. The TMC leader had said that he had sent a letter to Om Birla’s appointment on September 20 and he was accepted as ‘received’.
Supriyo had resigned as Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change in August. Union cabinet reshuffle. In a Facebook post, he said there was a difference of opinion between him and the West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and that differences between senior leaders were “harming the party”.
Later on 18 September, the former BJP leader, who had announced that he was quitting politics and would also resign as an MP, joined Trinamool Congress (TMC) claimed that he is coming back for a great opportunity to serve Bengal.
