Babar Azam’s ‘unique celebration’ goes viral after record breaking ton vs Australia

new Delhi: The second match of the three-match Test series between Pakistan and Australia is currently being played in Karachi. Pakistan’s struggle continues to avert their defeat in the Pakistan vs Australia second Test against Australia. Chasing a mammoth target of 506 runs set by the Aussies, Pakistan scored 192 runs for the loss of two wickets at the end of the fourth day’s play.

Captain Babar Azam, leading the side from the front, scored a struggling century in Pakistan’s second innings against the Aussies, making him the first Pakistani captain to score a century in all three formats. Interestingly, Azam scored an international century after a long gap of 25 months.

Babar’s heroic innings averted Pakistan’s defeat for the time being. Meanwhile, the star batsman gestured to his teammates to give him confidence and not to worry till he comes in the middle. The Pakistani captain completed his century in the 78th over, his first Test century since February 2020.

“Captain’s knock or what?! Babar Azam scores his first Test century in two years. Brilliant,” read the caption of a tweet posted by a Twitter user by the name of Neroli Meadows.

Australia declared their first innings at 556 for 9. In reply, Pakistan could only manage 148 runs in their first innings. Despite this, the Australian team, which was touring Pakistan for the first time since 1998, did not give follow-on to the host team. Pakistan were bowled out for 192 in their second innings with a lead of 408 runs. Australia then declared their second innings after scoring 97/2 to set a target of 506 for Pakistan.
