Azamgarh University will be named after Maharaja Suheldev: UP CM Yogi Adityanath

LucknowUttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that Azamgarh University will be named after Maharaja Suheldev.

Adityanath said his government was not only committed to promoting spiritual tourism in the state, but would also focus on the development of sites of historical importance.

“There used to be riots before 2017, now no one dares to walk freely inside Uttar Pradesh,” he said.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, who was speaking at the concluding session of the two-day DD Conclave, said the state has a policy of zero tolerance to crime and criminals.

Adityanath insisted on a massive campaign to honor “women and daughters”.

The Chief Minister also spoke about the arrangements made to deal with the increase in the COVID-19 cases.

Adityanath said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited vaccine manufacturing companies in different places of the country during the Corona period and also inspired and encouraged the scientists.

He said, “500 new oxygen plants were set up in the state to fight Kovid-19… the state has become self-sufficient in the matter of oxygen.”

Uttar Pradesh earlier on Friday reported 4,228 new Covid cases, taking the active cases in the state to 12,327 and one death.

As per the health department bulletin, the death was reported from Maharajganj district, taking the death toll from the Covid pandemic in the state to 22,918, reports PTI.

Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow reported 577 new Kovid-19 cases on Friday.

Meanwhile, fresh Covid-19 cases continued to emerge as India recorded 1,41,986 cases on Saturday.

According to government data, 40,895 have been cured and 285 deaths have occurred in the last 24 hours.
