The Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Vicky Donor, which was her debut film, became a successful hit. He played the role of a sperm donor in the film and his performance left everyone in awe. The film was directed by Shoojit Sircar and written by Juhi Chaturvedi. Now during a recent event, Juhi revealed that Vicky Donor was rejected by many established actors.

Talking to Aaj Tak, she said that she was worried while writing Vicky Donor as she was not sure that she would be able to complete it. “When I wrote Vicky Donor there was fear. There was fear whether I could write it. The subject (sperm donation) was such that no one could do it except Shoojit Sircar. Many established actors said no to Vicky Donor. ” In a way, it was good because it made us desperate. We got Ayushmann Khurrana, he was desperate (for a film) then and so were we,” Juhi said.

She further stated that sensibility is gender-neutral, thus the gender of the author is irrelevant. “When I write, it doesn’t matter whether I am a man or a woman.
