New Delhi: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Anek’ now has a new release date. Written and directed by Anubhav Sinha, ‘Anek’ is an action-thriller set in the geopolitical environment of North-East India.
‘Anek’ also marks Ayushmann’s second collaboration with director Anubhav Sinha. The ‘Dream Girl’ actor previously worked with Sinha in ‘Article 15’; Another critically acclaimed film.
Earlier ‘Anek’ was scheduled to release on 13 May 2022. Now it has been shifted to 27th May. Trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh announced the news along with the new poster of the film on his official Twitter handle.
In the poster, Ayushmann Khurrana is seen looking straight ahead, armed with a gun, while two men lie dead in a smoke-screen. The poster also carries a tagline which reads, “Jeetega Kaun? India? (Who wins? India)

According to Bollywood Hungama, ‘Anek’ has been shot in difficult terrain of Northeast India and it is Sinha’s costliest project till date. Anubhav Sinha is known for creating compelling socio-political dialogues through his cinema and his films are usually shot on budget.
The release date of many has also been shifted to avoid clash with Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’.
“A lot of hard work and planning goes into the making of a film and according to that principle it deserves undivided attention. We are happy to move the release of ‘Anek’ by a few days so that the audience can now enjoy both the films. Methods,” Anubhav Sinha said in a statement.
‘Anek’ is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Anubhav Sinha’s Banaras MediaWorks. It is all set to release on 27th May 2022.
