Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport

Ayodhya’s new airport will be developed in phases, with the first phase targeting the completion of a terminal to handle 300 passengers. Meanwhile, the other three terminals of the airport are expected to be completed by 2023.

With a capacity to handle six million passengers per year, the new terminal structure, which has a total space of 6,000 square metres, aims to accommodate 300 people per day during peak travel times.

According to the Civil Aviation Department of Uttar Pradesh and the Airports Authority of India, the first phase of expansion of this international airport will take place on 317 acres of land. Three phases make up the manufacturing process.

In terms of design, the airport will reflect the spirit of the Ram temple with several elements showing similarities. For example, the roof of the terminal is proposed to be ornamented with a spire. In addition, the terminal will have murals depicting important events from the Ramayana.

Ayodhya Railway Station

With the completion of the first phase, the makeover of the railway station is in full swing. Like the rest of the city, the new station will also have the essence of a Lord Ram temple. It is noteworthy that an investment of Rs 241 crore has been made on the development of the first phase of the station. The money has been used to provide facilities such as parking, accommodation for staff, an office for the Railway Police and construction of three new platforms.

Ayodhya Bus Terminus

Soon, a world-class bus terminal will be built in this holy city of Uttar Pradesh to support easy movement of pilgrims and visitors and give them a practical commuting option. The Rs 400 crore bus terminus project has recently received approval from the Uttar Pradesh government. The construction of a four-lane flyover on the Ayodhya-Sultanpur road has also been approved by the government.

The new bus terminal will be built on 9 acres of land behind the Ayodhya Dham bus station on the Ayodhya bypass of the Lucknow-Gorakhpur National Highway. The bus terminal will be built on PPP model and will have contemporary facilities found in airports.
