Awaiting return to Chinese universities, Indian medical students to protest at Jantar Mantar on May 29

Indian medical students enrolled in Chinese universities have been waiting for more than two years to return to their colleges. Their position is particularly special as medical education in online mode is not considered adequate by the Indian authorities. Thus, even if they come close to completing their degree, as per the existing rules, their degree cannot be considered eligible by the Indian authorities.

These students have been demanding a return to China-based universities as the situation returns to normal, however, the students are yet to return to their campuses despite talks between governments. To re-voice their concerns, medical student unions including Indian Students in China (ISIC) and Foreign Medical Graduates Parents Association (FMGPA) have decided to hold an all-India mass gathering at Jantar Mantar on May 29.

The students are demanding the central government to negotiate with China to make arrangements for the stranded MBBS students and to bring back the students. Meanwhile, the central government has held talks with the Chinese government several times, but the country is not ready to bring back foreign students.
