Avesh Khan fulfills ‘dream of representing India’ after first meeting

Madhya Pradesh pacer Avesh Khan, who earned the national call-up for the T20I series against New Zealand on Wednesday, said his dream of representing the country has been fulfilled.

Avesh, who took 24 wickets in IPL, got a national call-up and got the news right after MP’s Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 match against Kerala.

He said, ‘Every cricketer has a dream to play for his country and he works hard to make this dream a reality. My dream has now come true,” said Avesh, who took 100 first-class wickets in 27 matches. PTI Bhasha,

Avesh said that he had done well in the last domestic season and also in the Indian Premier League, which helped him earn a national call-up.

The right-arm pacer credited former cricketers like Amay Khurasia, Chandrakant Pandit, Devendra Bundela and Abbas Ali for spotting the talent in him and then guiding him throughout his career.

Khan’s father Aashiq Khan recalled how he gave wings to Avesh’s dreams.

“My son first joined Indore Colts Cricket Club. Then Amay Khurasia noticed his talent and took him to his academy. After that he didn’t look back,” remembered his father.

His father also said that as soon as Avesh reached Indore after three months, he went straight to Khurasia’s residence and took his blessings.

As soon as Avesh came home, his relatives and well-wishers had already come home to congratulate the rookie pacer.
