Avatar 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: Avatar: The Way of Water opened to a strong response at the Indian box office. The film opened to rave reviews and is being praised for its exceptional VFX and highly hyped storytelling. James Cameron’s science fiction drama Avatar witnessed record breaking collections in South India. According to trade reports, Avatar 2 has collected a whopping Rs 3,598 crore in just three days. Moreover, the film surpassed the collections of Doctor Strange in India. While the film has comfortably beaten Avengers Endgame in all southern circuits, it lags behind the blockbuster opening of 2019 across India.

Avatar: The Way of Water has opened strongly at the box office in India. According to Box Office India, the film has performed extremely well in the Hindi circuit. In North and East circuits like CI, Bihar and Assam, Avatar – The Way of Water has surpassed the lifetime collection of Avatar (2009). At the end of the first weekend, Avatar 2 will reportedly be able to earn Rs 132 crore in India. With this, Cameron starrer Doctor Strange has crossed the lifetime collection of Rs 126 crore in just three days.

Talking about the worldwide box office, trade analyst Ramesh Bala’s tweet suggested that the film grossed over $450 million (roughly Rs. 3,598 crores) in the opening weekend. “#AvatarTheWayOfWater 1st Weekend BO: North America – $134 million. China – $59 million. Rest of the World – $242 million. Total – $435 million.”
