Australian fast bowler Megan Schutt is blessed with a baby girl. Megan revealed on Saturday that his wife, Jess, gave birth to daughter Riley via an emergency C-section on August 17th. Megan wrote in one: “Tuesday evening after 28 weeks of pregnancy, Riley Louise Schutt was born, weighing 858 grams.” The Twitter thread was accompanied by a series of pictures of the happy couple with their newborn.
“Our little miracle was born via emergency C-section… By 24 weeks we were told that our complications meant she might need to come anytime. So for about 5 weeks we kept our overnights The bags were packed, wondering how far we could go,” Megan said.
“Now she’s headed out on a long road but the small lapse is already scoring goals. Jess was/is a tough cookie, incredible to be a part of all of this and I’m already an amazing mother at my wife.” But couldn’t be prouder, I knew she would be. I’m one lucky person to have two such beautiful girls in my life,” concluded Megan’s source.
Megan married her longtime partner Jess Holloeck in March 2019. In May 2021 she announced that Jess was expecting her first child, with a due date in early November.
Megan has represented Australia in 65 ODIs and 73 T20Is, taking 99 and 96 wickets respectively, since her international debut in 2012.
She was the leading wicket-taker during Australia’s victorious 2020 T20 World Cup victory with 13 wickets, including 4/18 in the final against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
With the multi-format series against India starting on September 19, Megan had requested not to be considered for selection citing personal reasons.
