The 2024-25 edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is set to start on November 22 in Perth, and the next four matches will be played in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, respectively.

Australia will host the Indian men’s cricket team for a five-match Test series later this year. The 2024-25 edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is scheduled to start on November 22 in Perth, and the next four matches will be played in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, respectively. The Aussies, who defeated India in the World Test Championship and ODI World Cup final last year, are desperate to win the Test series against India this year after losing the last four editions of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Of those four Test series, two were played on Australian soil, and on both occasions, Team India managed to win by a margin of 2-1.

Despite India’s good performances in the last two Test tours of Australia, it won’t be an easy task for the WTC 2023-25 leaders to get the better of Aussies this time around.

Ahead of the start of the marquee Test series, Australian captain Pat Cummins, while speaking on Star Sports’ Press Room, has fired a warning to Team India by saying that the hosts have got over the poor results in the last two series and are looking to make amends this time around.

“We’ve had a bit of a break, so I’m excited for the five-match Test series. Excited to get into it. We haven’t had a lot of luck against India over the last few Test series, but we always pride ourselves on playing well here in Australia,” Cummins said.

“The last two series were a long time ago, so I think we’ve gotten over it. But we have really high expectations when we play Test cricket in Australia. I think that’s from the fans and the media as well. So anytime we don’t win down here, of course, you look at those series a bit more closely.”

“The last series, in particular, was a really tough one. It went right down to that last session at the Gabba, and unfortunately, we couldn’t pull it off. A lot of the guys in the team are the same as those who played in that series, and we’re here to make amends,” he added.

Cummins, who replaced Tim Paine as Australia’s Test captain in 2021, has led the Baggy Greens in three Tests against India so far but was only able to win one.
