West Indies, the biggest killers of the tournament, started with a bolder and even faster pace than India. In the last two matches, their match-winners Deandra Dottin and Hayley Matthews scored 81 runs in five overs at the 50 and 10 overs mark.
But Dottin fell on that score and was followed by a short collapse that derailed West Indies’ run chase.
Another flurry of wickets was 145-7 for West Indies in the 27th over. Precise and off-pace bowling seemed most effective on easy-paced pitches and India made changes in flight and pace which made scoring difficult.
