Officials said the passengers were treated for minor injuries before continuing with the journey and that other airport operations were not affected.

Three people were bitten before Friday’s arrest of the suspect in an attack on passengers inside the San Francisco International Airport terminal, officials said.

Airport officials said the attacker tried to injure passengers around 6 p.m. in a security public area east of the international terminal.

Officials said the passengers were treated for minor injuries before continuing with the journey and that other airport operations were not affected.

Airport duty manager Russell McKay told the San Francisco Chronicle that it was unclear whether the suspect was a passenger and that the motive for the attack was unknown.

A KTVU-TV reporter covering the return home of the Golden State Warriors at the airport said a large knife had been removed from the scene.

Other details were not immediately available.
