PM Narendra Modi slammed the Chhattisgarh government for its corruption-laden rule and enumerated a number of alleged scams that had taken place under chief minister Bhupesh Baghel

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the BJP government at the Centre will leave no stone unturned in Chhattisgarh’s progress if voted to power as the Congress, which was the ruling party at present, had done nothing for the development of the poll-bound state. He slammed the state government for its corruption-laden rule and enumerated a number of alleged scams that had taken place under chief minister Bhupesh Baghel.

“We want our tribal population to benefit from central schemes and will leave no stone unturned for the state’s progress if voted to power. The corrupt Congress government in the state has done nothing for its development. The Congress had promised to eradicate poverty but had it worked towards that, Modi won’t have had to work so hard to achieve this aim,” the prime minister said at the BJ’s ‘Shankhnaad’ rally in Raigarh.

“Chhattisgarhia sabse badhiya, waise hi duniya ke log keh rahey hain Bharat ka Chandrayaan sabse badhiya (people of the world are saying that India’s Chandrayaan is the best). The successful G20 is the result of the hard work of every Indian,” he said explaining that even Chhattisgarh had a part to play in the resounding success of the G20 Leaders Summit held in New Delhi on September 9 and 10.

Before the rally, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated rail sector projects, laid the foundation stone of ‘critical care’ blocks in nine districts and distributed one lakh sickle cell counselling cards at a function organised by the state government. After the function, he held a roadshow on his way to the BJP rally.
