Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma celebrated his 54th birthday on Wednesday at his official residence in Guwahati with his family members, supporters and party workers. Since late evening, many people gathered outside the BJP leader’s residence carrying flowers to affectionately address him as ‘Mama’.
He was joined by his wife, son and daughter to make the moment memorable. As he cut the cake, his daughter and wife took turns smearing all the icing on his face.
A city hotel had prepared a four-tiered cake which had pictures of Sarma along with other leaders and prominent people.
Wishes poured in for him from all over the country. President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other leaders wished Sarma on his birthday.
