Asked to stay overnight in school for ‘practical exam’, 17 girls of class 10 in UP seduced, teacher molested

On the night of 17 November, seventeen class 10 girls were allegedly molested and molested by the school owner in Muzaffarnagar, UP. He was called to school on the pretext of CBSE practical exam.

On November 17, seventeen Class 10 girls were called to school in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar and asked to stay overnight on the pretext of CBSE practical exams. There, he was allegedly given food along with sedatives and later molested by the school owner. He returned home the very next day from a private school in Purkaji area.

The girls were allegedly threatened not to tell anyone what had happened or that their family members would be killed. According to sources the girls come from very poor families.

The matter came to light when the parents of the two victims contacted Purkaji MLA Pramod Utwal, who then contacted Senior Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav and initiated an investigation. He claimed that till then, the parents tried several times to get their complaint lodged by the police, but to no avail.

Now an FIR has been registered against two persons – the owner of the school where the girls study and the owner of the school where they were taken for ‘practical examination’ on the night of the incident. One of the two has been arrested so far.

A departmental inquiry has also been started against Purkazi police station in-charge Vinod Kumar Singh for alleged negligence in the matter. “He was sent to the police lines on the allegation of delay in initiating proceedings in the matter,” an official said. Hindustan Times report.
