The Hindi version of the film, also directed by AR Murugadoss, stars Aamir Khan and was the first Bollywood film to breach the Rs 100-crore mark at the domestic box office.

Asin starrer Ghajini is making a comeback to the silver screens on June 7 with a new take. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film features Suriya, Asin and Nayanthara. The film was critically appreciated for its thrilling storyline, music and the acting of the leads. Released in 2005, the film stars Suriya, Asin Thottumkal, and Nayanthara in the leading roles.

The film is produced by Salem Chandrasekharan under Saravana Creations. With music scored by Harris Jayaraj, the cinematography is handled by RD Rajasekhar. Ghajini is being released jointly in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka with new technical advancements, presented in high-quality 2K Atmos format. In Kerala, it is being released by Roshika Enterprises.

Girish Johar, an industry expert, shared on social media that the film Ghajini will be back in Kerala theatres next month. He posted the film’s poster in Malayalam and mentioned, “The original famous film #Ghajini will return to Kerala cinemas on June 7th with a new digital version.”

Fans are excited about the film getting a re-release in the cinema halls. The film is returning after twenty years with a digital makeover. Ghajini is set to follow in the footsteps of Thalapathy Vijay’s Ghilli as the excitement of its re-release is high.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Suriya is eagerly anticipating the release of his upcoming film Kanguva. Directed by an epic period action drama, it stars Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani, along with other notable names like DOP Nataraj, Redin Kingsley, and VTV Ganesh. The music for the film is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Currently, the film is in the post-production phase, with VFX and graphics expected to be finalised by August. However, the release plan for the film is yet to be disclosed by the makers.
