Ashley Gardner scored 115 runs at an impressive strike rate of 166.66 and also took seven wickets during the 4-1 T20I series win over India.
Australia all-rounder Ashley Gardner and England’s Harry Brook have won the ICC Player of the Month award for December following their stellar performances at the international level. While Gardner put in an outstanding all-round performance during the bilateral T20I series against India, Brook continued his rise with an eye-catching performance in the Pakistan Test series.
Gardner scored 115 runs at an impressive strike rate of 166.66 and also took seven wickets during the 4–1 T20I series win over India. The all-rounder saved his best for the fifth and final encounter as he scored an unbeaten 66 before taking two wickets in a 54-run victory.
“I am honored to be named Player of the Month for December, especially considering there are so many outstanding cricketers in the game at the moment,” Gardner was quoted as saying in a media release by the ICC.
“our tour India Was an incredibly memorable one and it was heartening to come back with a series win in tough conditions. We have an exciting few months ahead, so hopefully we can carry that form into our series against Pakistan and into the ICC Women’s T20. World Cup,” he added.
Brook, on the other hand, had a remarkable series in Pakistan as he scored three centuries in as many Tests to help England to a historic 3–0 clean sweep.
The rising England star started the tour strongly in Rawalpindi, hitting 19 fours and five sixes in a blistering first-innings 153 followed by a quickfire 87. In Multan, he scored 108 and 111 in Karachi.

He continued, “I have to thank my team-mates who helped me settle into the environment comfortably. It’s a great team to play in, where we enjoy each other’s company and have fun.” Hopefully, our form will continue as we start the new year looking to win series and make a difference in the Test arena.”
