Asaram was arrested by the Jodhpur Police from Indore in 2013 for sexually assaulting a minor student studying in his Gurukul. Since then he is lodged in the jail here. In 2018, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Asaram has so far filed a petition to the Supreme Court to get bail 15 times, but he did not get bail from any court.
