Aryan and his father in the last few weeks Shahrukh Khan have been promoting it and the upcoming launch is creating a lot of buzz among the fans. An advertisement featuring Shah Rukh Khan was also released. From a jacket costing around 2 lakhs to a sweatshirt selling for 33 thousand, the cost of the clothes took almost everyone by surprise.
Netizens expressed their feelings on Reddit. One user wrote, “Dude this money grab scheme screams cos wtf 💀😭.” Another said, “It’s not even for rich people, it’s for stupid upper class kids who want subpar clothes to make their school look like top-notch business.” “Just checked the prices, this is insane. A middle class man can never afford this,” “2 lakhs for a leather jacket?”, read others.
An Instagram account talking about fashion also shared screenshots of clothing items and asked, “What’s up? Who’s hired for this? Just a word.”
Earlier in an interview to Harper’s Bazaar, Aryan talked about working with his father. She added that working with Shah Rukh is never challenging as he makes the whole experience very easy. “Working with my father has never been challenging as, with his experience and dedication, he makes everyone’s job easier on the sets. He also makes the entire crew feel comfortable and has tremendous respect for everyone. I always make sure to pay extra attention when he is on set, so I don’t miss out on anything.
The advertisement starring Shah Rukh marked Aryan’s first venture as a director in Bollywood. Aryan, who studied Bachelor of Fine Arts, Cinematic Arts, Film and Television Production, School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California, had no plans to follow in his father’s footsteps in acting. Instead, he wanted to stay behind the camera and work as a filmmaker.
Shah Rukh confirmed this when he appeared on David Letterman’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. He said, “My son doesn’t want to act and I don’t think he’ll be able to. But in India it’s like if you’re the son of a film star, you can become a film star. He’s good looking and he’s tall and fit.” But I don’t think he probably has what he needs, and he himself feels it. However, he added, “but he’s a good writer.”
