In a season where Australia’s bowlers rarely looked dangerous, Gill drove, pulled and slashed to reach his half-century. While he was patient against the spinners, he capitalized on the pace of the expensive Mitchell Starc to the fullest. He is being supported at the crease by Cheteshwar Pujara, who is looking in great touch after scoring 22 not out in 46 balls.
