Army foils terrorist attempt, explosive material hidden in village near Kupwara

Explosive material was detected by Alert Road Opening Party (ROP) area search.

The Indian Army has foiled the nefarious designs of anti-national elements after a huge amount of explosive material was hidden in a secluded area near village Gooj in Kupwara district.

During the search of the area, the Alert Road Opening Party (ROP) found the explosive material. It was well camouflaged and foul concealed. However, alert personnel found something suspicious and it was soon confirmed by the Army unit’s explosive sniffer dogs and metal detectors.

As per the operational procedures, the area was cordoned off by Army Private and J&K Police and soon the Expert Bomb Disposal Squad cleared the surrounding area to prevent any tragedy.

The alert personnel found something suspicious and was soon confirmed by the Army unit’s explosive sniffer dogs and metal detectors.

The squad traced and destroyed the entire explosive. The alert and ever vigilant security forces ensured that there was no loss of life or property. Experts believe that the explosive could have been kept for use by terrorists during the upcoming Independence Day.

Alert Security forces have once again thwarted possible attempts by anti-national elements working to destabilize peace in Kashmir.
