‘Arm-chair Liberals’ Stayed Away from Bharat Jodo Yatra but Pontificated on It: Ramesh’s Swipe at ‘Cong Bashers’

Ramesh shared a 40-second animation with Hindi voice-over that shows the “house of an arm-chair liberal”

Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Friday took a dig at “arm-chair liberals” and “professional anti-Congressists” who stayed away from the Bharat Jodo Yatra, while sharing an animation on it.

Taking to Twitter, Ramesh shared a 40-second animation with a Hindi voice-over, which shows the “house of an arm-chair liberal”. The man is shown sitting on a chair while commenting on social media, and finally his legs break the chair.

The voice-over urges “arm chair liberals” not to always depend on the chair and to “join the struggle”.

Congress general secretary in-charge of communications Ramesh tweeted with the animation, “Message to armchair liberals, professional Congress opponents and commentators who stayed away from Bharat Jodo Yatra and continued to support it.”

The Rahul Gandhi-led yatra will end at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium after hoisting the national flag at the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk area and covering 12 states and two union territories in over 140 days. The rally ended with It was launched on September 7 last year, covering a distance of over 4,000 km.
