Arjun Rampal said that while sex is important, cheating in a relationship has become an addiction for people.
Arjun Rampal recently opened up about people cheating in relationships and said that it is an addiction. When asked about open relationships, Arjun emphasised that it is important to be with one partner in a sexual relationship as people exchange energies when they indulge in sexual activities.
Talking to Ranveer Allahbadia on his YouTube channel, the actor said, “I love sex (laughs). I think sex is a very important part of your life but yes, I think being with one partner is even more important. When you are sharing a bed, sharing physicality, you don’t realise it there is a huge energy exchange, shift in what you are taking in from that person as well. It is going into your DNA somewhere.”
About people cheating on their partners and being in non-monogamous relationships, Arjun said, “It’s an addiction, it’s a habit that people created for themselves. I know a lot of people who need another woman or whatever and they are in a very happy marriage, they call it happy marriage, I don’t know how, whatever it is, they say it’s just a fling, or nothing, but it’s not just nothing. It’s actually an addiction, it’s actually going to pull you down.”
Arjun was previously married to Mehr Jesia from 1998 to 2019. They share two daughters. He is now in a relationship with Gabriella Demetriades and they share two sons. However, Arjun and Gabriella have remained unmarried.
Arjun Rampal and Gabriella Demetriades have opted for the non-traditional path for their relationship. The couple has been together for five years now and also shared two sons, but have not opted to marry. The reason, Arjun Rampal said in the same interview, is that marriage can change people. He said marriage is ‘a piece of paper after all’ and added that in his head, he is already married to Gabriella.
“It’s not me, it’s not her. What is marriage? A piece of paper after all. I think we are already married and there is not doubt in my mind about that. But, sometimes what that piece of paper can also do is change you. Because its like you think it’s permanent, its a false notion in fact but you are just legally bound,” Arjun said.
“It could change your attitude towards each other. I think that’s how we both feel. Whatever has happened between us was very organic. I don’t want to speak much about it because I don’t want to jinx it. I don’t think I need to justify this to anybody. For us, this is beautiful. You should keep experiencing it for as long as you can. In both our minds, we are married to each other. We are both pushing each other in the right direction and at the same time, we are boyfriend-girlfriend,” he added.
