Arjun Kapoor to star in Mohit Suri directorial ‘Ek Villain Returns’

Arjun’s last three films – “Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar” (Prime Video), “Sardar Ka Grandson” (Netflix) and “Bhoot Police” (Disney + Hotstar) – have premiered on OTT, but he has yet to release any film. Haven’t acted in. series so far.

The actor told PTI, “I have been shooting continuously. There is time constraint which has not allowed me to find something immediately. I am getting offers right now but I need to find out what excites me. does.”

Arjun, 36, said he hopes to get a completely different concept for his debut in storytelling in the long run.

“What I would do on OTT, I can’t do in theatres. So, it has to be very specific. It has to be different from what I am pursuing in films. Sometimes you have to wait to find something exciting, ” He added.

The actor is currently shooting for the suspense drama “The Lady Killer”, co-starring Bhumi Pednekar. Directed by ‘Section 375’ fame Ajay Behl, the film is being shot in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

“I have started shooting for a special script ‘The Lady Killer’. I am very excited about it. It was amazing working with Bhumi and Ajay sir. It is very engaging and real,” the actor said.

His other projects include “Ek Villain Returns”, directed by Mohit Suri, which is slated to release on July 29, and Vishal Bhardwaj‘s son Aasmaan Bhardwaj’s feature directorial debut “Kuttey”.

The actor has completed shooting for both the films and is waiting for the audience’s response.

“Ek Villain is a proper Mohit Suri musical action thriller. It has all the qualities of being an entertainer on the big screen. It is a well shot and well executed film. Mohit has helped me present it in a different way. worked really hard so I’m really interested to see how people react to that,” he said of the film, also starring John abrahamTara Sutaria and Disha Patani,

Without divulging details of the plot of ‘Kutti’, Arjun said the film is based on the same ‘scenario’ and its tone is similar to that of Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Kaminey’.

“All I can say is ‘Baap ne Kaminey banai thi bete ne Kuttey banai hai’ (Father had made ‘Kaminey’ and son has made ‘Kuttey’),” the actor quipped.

She added, “If you have enjoyed Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Kaminey’, I am pretty sure you will be entertained by Aakash’s ‘Kutti’. It is set in that melu, that tone and madness.”

‘Kutti’ also stars Tabu, Konkona Sen Sharma, Naseeruddin Shah, Radhika Madan, Kumud Mishra and Shardul Bharadwaj.
