Social media has been flooded with claims since Wednesday, especially after several entertainment news portals reported that Bollywood Actors Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif are now engaged. Several pages sharing Bollywood news and gossip on Instagram and Twitter claimed that Vicky and Katrina exchanged rings last night at a private roka ceremony in the presence of their families and close friends.
And despite neither of them confirming the news, their fans have been sharing and sending congratulatory messages to both the stars.
A source close to Filmybeat, an entertainment portal, got in touch with Vicky Kaushal’s father Sham Kaushal to find out if there is any truth to the engagement rumours. Rubbishing the reports and social media posts, Sham said, “It is not true” and dismissed all reports surrounding Vicky and Katrina’s engagement.
Earlier, News18 contacted the respective teams of both the actors and they rubbished the engagement rumours.
Katrina’s team said that she is not even in Mumbai at the moment. The 38-year-old actor is currently shooting in Russia for his upcoming film “Tiger 3”, which stars Salman Khan in the lead role. Vicky’s team said that he was shooting for ‘Mr Lele’ in Puducherry and had returned to Mumbai only a few days back.
While the engagement rumors have been debunked by the teams of both the actors and Vicky Kaushal’s father, both the actors have been seen together in public on several occasions. Recently he was seen attending the premiere of ‘Sher Shah’.
On the work front, Katrina is awaiting the release of Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi in which she is paired opposite Akshay Kumar. Currently, she is shooting for Maneesh Sharma’s Tiger 3 with Salman and Emraan Hashmi. She will also be seen in ‘Phone Bhoot’ alongside Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
Vicky is currently working in Aditya Dhar’s film ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’.
