Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) on Monday said it has handled the highest ever cargo in the quarter at 90.89 MMT (million tonnes) during the April-June period of this financial year, registering a growth of 8 per cent. Has been. year-on-year basis.

In June alone, the company handled the highest ever monthly cargo of 31.88 MT, registering a year-on-year growth of 12 per cent, APSEZ said in a statement. “It also marks the highest ever cargo in a quarter at 90.89 MMT (million tonnes) during Q1 FY23, which is a 16 per cent qoq growth, and a growth of 8 per cent as compared to a strong Q1 FY22, Which has seen an increase in COVID volumes,” it said.

Coal volumes are showing a strong year-on-year (YoY) recovery of 25 per cent. Other key segments leading this monthly surge are crude (17 per cent) and containers (6 per cent).

Major ports that helped drive this monthly volume growth include Mundra (21 per cent per year), Hazira (16 per cent), Kattupalli and Ennore combined (38 per cent) and Dahej (70 per cent). The largest commercial port operator in APSEZ is India It accounts for about one-fourth of the freight traffic in the country. Its presence in 13 domestic ports across seven maritime states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha presents the widest national footprint with deep internal connectivity.
