The Google Chrome web browser is getting a new update and macOS users will need to install it immediately. Google released its third Chrome update last week, as a zero-day vulnerability raises security concerns for millions. The new update promises to fix the zero-day vulnerability with new patches.
Google released the update a few days ago, which moves the browser to version 100.0.4898.127 on macOS, Windows as well as Linux machines. Google is rolling out the update in the coming days and wants everyone to force them to manually install it immediately.

The new Chrome update includes fixing several security issues, including a vulnerability called ‘Type Confusion’. The security vulnerability was first reported on April 13, keeping Google Chrome engineers busy ever since.
Google considers this zero-day vulnerability to be highly vulnerable and risky, which is why you’ve only gotten three updates a week, which is pretty unprecedented in most cases. The problem is large enough to crash browsers and allow attackers to access arbitrary code for their devious purposes.
MacOS users can check for Chrome updates manually by going to the Google Chrome app on their Mac and clicking About Google Chrome to see if a new version is available for your system. After installing the update, Chrome will ask you to relaunch the web browser so that the changes are reflected on the back end.
Chrome releases security updates to fix such vulnerabilities, especially as millions of people around the world rely on its web browser for all purposes. Chrome is the market leader in its segment, which also includes Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari and Firefox browsers. Google released Chrome version 100 a few days back, taking it ahead of other browsers in terms of generational leap.
