Foxconn, a subsidiary of Taiwan’s Hon Hai Technology Group, currently manufactures iPhones for Apple at its factory in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai.

Real estate giant BCD Group is reportedly set to lease 900 apartments to Foxconn, a manufacturing partner of Apple, for a three-year term in a township project situated in Hoskote, Bengaluru.

As reported by HT.com, the residential units will house Foxconn’s female engineering, technical, and support staff, along with factory workers, employed at the Taiwanese company’s upcoming iPhone factory, located about 25 minutes from the project site.

Last year, the iPhone assembler acquired a 300-acre land parcel in Devanahalli, near Kempegowda International Airport.

The township project, formerly known as Artha Emprasa, was taken over by BCD Group in 2021 and completed with a capital investment of Rs 250 crore, according to Managing Director and Chairman Angad Bedi. It has since been rebranded as BCD Emprasa, Bedi told HT.com.

“BCD Group has managed to transform a budget housing undertaking into India’s first blue-collar girls-only dormitory project, set to house close to 8,500 women,” Bedi said.

BCD Emprasa, spanning 8 acres, features 9 towers with 9 floors each, offering 1RK and 2RK apartments ranging from 700 to 800 square feet. According to Angad Bedi, each unit can accommodate 4 to 6 people.

“It was part of phase 1 of a larger 80-acre township project, which is poised to become the first fully integrated township of Hoskote. The acquisition of land is largely completed by the Group,” Bedi said.

Phase 2 will introduce plotted and villa developments under the name Ekam Homes, covering 15 acres, and is expected to launch by the end of the year, Bedi added.
