iPhone 16 Ultra may cost more than Pro Max
Apple seems to think people will be happy to splurge on a second iPhone variant, which may have more bells and whistles than the Pro Max model.
Apple has moved up the price ladder over the past few years with iPhones, iPads and even MacBooks and the company isn’t done yet. According to new reports, Apple is looking to add another premium iPhone to its lineup with the Ultra moniker and it could launch alongside the iPhone 16 series next year.
The Bloomberg report suggests that Apple has seen a huge demand for the iPhone Pro series as its features set them apart from the vanilla variants. And it believes that adding another premium model above the Pro Max could add further momentum to its money-making plans.
“The iPhone has become so integral to people’s lives,” Cook said.
The change could also be at the expense of a regular iPhone model, with Apple not convinced by the sales figures for the iPhone Minis and iPhone Plus, which launched last year alongside the 14 series. Apple has already cut production of the iPhone 14 Plus to meet demand for the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.
And while the iPhone 15 series is already reaching the production stage, Apple may revisit its stand next year and add the iPhone 16 Ultra to its portfolio. With the iPhone 14 Pro Max priced at over Rs 1.5 lakh, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max likely to rise further this year, we expect the rumored iPhone 16 Ultra to easily become the first Rs 2 lakh iPhone in the market.
It’s unclear what will make the Ultra different from the Pros, but reports suggest that Apple could offer it without the ports, perhaps adding another camera and packing a larger screen, if at all. Can Apple Ultra also support stylus like Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra? We cannot discount anything at this time.
