Apple Car launch to be delayed to 2026, upcoming EV to have self-driving feature

Apple has postponed the 2026 launch of the “Apple Car”, an electric vehicle that will cost less than $100,000. According to Gizmochina, Apple is narrowing down the scope of its self-driving electric vehicle goal. The “Titan” project related to this vehicle appears to be in limbo for some time. The iPhone maker’s original plan was to build a car without a steering wheel or pedals, allowing passengers to sit next to each other in a limo-like vehicle.

However, the project has now been scaled down and will feature a more conventional design with a driver’s seat, steering wheel and pedals. The vehicle will not have fully autonomous driving or self-driving features, but it will be able to drive on its own on highways.

This will give users enough autonomy to play games or watch videos while driving on the road, but will request you to handle it when you are in a city or during inclement weather. Since the tech giant has toned down the features and technologies for the vehicle, the Apple Car will now cost less than $100,000 instead of the more than $120,000 that was previously expected.

The company is still working on the design of the vehicle, but it will be completed by the end of next year. After that, the features list for the car is expected to be finished by 2024, and testing will begin in 2025, before the Apple Car is expected to launch in 2026. The Apple Car was first reported to arrive in 2024.
