Apple: Apple ramps up AirPods Pro repair program – Times of India

Apple has quietly extended the repair program for airpods pro Two years to three years, according to a report by CultofMac. The repair program covers hardware problems with the device that can cause crackling and static sounds.
With an additional year added to the program, AirPods Pro users will get a free replacement if they pass an Apple inspection to be eligible for the repair program. Also, if the problem is in only one earbud, Apple will only replace one for free. The repair program is only for AirPods Pro and not AirPods or AirPods Max.
According to Apple, the hoarse voice issue only affected AirPods Pro units that were manufactured before October 2020. Problems encountered with AirPods Pro may include (one or more).
“Hoarse or steady sounds that get worse in loud environments, with exercise, or when talking on the phone
Active noise cancellation not working as expected, such as loss of bass sound, or increased background noise, such as road or airplane noise”
If you experienced any of the above issues with AirPods, you can contact Apple and get the faulty units back.
If you opt for carry-in repair, which requires you to take the unit to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service ProviderMake sure you have proof of purchase or original AirPods box and charging case with your original AirPods. The serial number of the product will also be required which can be found on the charging case or under the lid.
