Prince Harry may visit the UK to mend royal relations and see King Charles, while Meghan Markle stays in California focusing on her brand and new cooking show

Prince Harry is planning a solo trip to the UK this summer, potentially to mend strained ties with his family, including Britain’s King Charles. Sources close to the Duke of Sussex suggest that this visit could be a well-thought-out move to address tensions within the royal family.

“Harry is very anxious to go home and see his dad,” a source told British tabloid Closer. “He’s convinced that if he spends a longer period of time there, he’ll have a better chance of reconnecting with his family.” The trip is also seen as an opportunity for Harry to catch up with old friends ahead of his 40th birthday in September.

While Harry prepares for his UK visit, his wife Meghan Markle is unlikely to join him, according to British media reports. The Duchess of Sussex has not returned to the UK since 2022 and is expected to remain in California with their children, Archie and Lilibet. Harry in the past expressed concerns about the media scrutiny his family faces in the UK.

Meghan is reportedly focused on her own projects, including the launch of her lifestyle brand and a new cooking show. A source noted that she respects Harry’s need to return to the UK for practical and emotional reasons but does not want to accompany him due to her busy schedule. “There’s too much on her plate right now,” the source said.

Harry’s last visit to the UK was brief and coincided with King Charles’s cancer diagnosis. During that trip, he missed an opportunity to meet with his father, which was attributed to scheduling conflicts on both sides. The Duke’s relationship with the royal family has been fraught with tension, especially following the couple’s candid revelations in their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey and subsequent projects that criticized the monarchy.

As Harry prepares for this potential visit, insiders speculate that it could serve as a crucial moment for reconciliation. “England is important to Harry. He needs to prove he’s not turning his back on his country and family,” a source was quoted as saying by Closer. However, the separation may test their marriage, as both Harry and Meghan navigate their individual commitments while maintaining their relationship.
