Anthony Russo noted how Indian fans are extremely passionate about cinema.

The much-awaited Indian adaptation of the Russo brothers’ Citadel will premiere on November 7 on Prime Video. The series is being led by Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu and helmed by filmmakers Raj and DK. Recently, in an interview, Anthony Russo discussed the Russo Brother’s partnership with Indian filmmakers for Citadel: Honey Bunny. Anthony Russo noted how the people of the country are extremely passionate about cinema. Giving insights into the show, he mentioned that the show would date back up to two decades showing the childhood of Nadia played by Priyanka Chopra in 2023’s Citadel.

In a recent interview with PTI, Anthony Russo professed his enthusiasm for working with Indian creators on the Citadel universe. He described how his visits to India for the promotions of Avengers: Endgame and The Grey Man allowed him to observe the country’s love of cinema firsthand. He said, “We are cinema lovers. We are very passionate. We were cinema-goers before we became filmmakers. So we respond very strongly to film lovers and India has such a massive passion for films. It’s electrifying.”

On his collaboration with Raj and DK on Citadel: Honey Bunny, Anthony Russo said, “It’s a dialogue with India over storytelling, films and shows. The most exciting part of what we have been able to do as filmmakers is to be able to engage with Indian audiences.” He added that Citadel offers them a completely new opportunity to connect with people everywhere through this show.

Some time back, Prime Video India shared a teaser for Citadel Honey Bunny. Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are seen performing hard action routines. Samantha is seen in one scene with two pistols, preparing to engage in a fight with two opponents. She also appears in a fight scene with Varun.

Davil Weil, co-creator of Citadel also asserted, “People fell in love with Nadia, who wouldn’t? It’s Priyanka Chopra. What was so thrilling to see in Honey Bunny is really diving into her origin story, who her parents were and it is a really beautiful love story at the centre.”
