ITBP personnel in Eastern Ladakh
Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel will be awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG) on the 75th Independence Day. Of these, 20 jawans were honored for bravery during the clashes in Eastern Ladakh in May-June, 2020. These are the highest gallantry medals received by ITBP for bravery in border skirmish/border guarding duty.
On June 15, 2020, 8 personnel will be awarded PMG for showing valor and protecting the motherland at Galwan. 6 personnel have been nominated to PMG for gallantry action during the violent clash on May 18, 2020 in Finger IV area.
Names of 6 ITBP personnel have been announced to PMG for gallant action during the violent clash on 18th May, 2020 in Finger IV area.
At the same time, on May 18, 2020, 6 personnel of ITBP will be awarded PMG for the adventure work near Hot Springs in Ladakh.
Apart from these, 3 persons will be awarded PMG for showing courage, grit and determination in anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh.

Defense of the country regardless of personal security
ITBP jawans have received high level training for deployment on the snowy hills of the Himalayas. This experience enabled the soldiers to effectively hold off the PLA troops. He faced violent physical scuffles by the PLA without regard for personal safety and displayed the firmest professional skill.
